Included with this edition is an original catalogue, prices listed, of the historic 1974 exhibition Norman Lindsay: Master Craftsman Etcher and Rose Lindsay: Master Etching Printmaker held at Bloomfield Galleries, Crows Nest, Sydney, to commemorate the launch of Angus & Robertson's two volume limited edition book Norman Lindsay: 200 Etchings. The opening and launch was held on 21 April 1974.

This edition is the first edition published in 1977 however, the first book issued had a black dustjacket as shown which was subsequently changed in the same year to the Lady and Parrot dustjacket.

The one hundred etchings reproduced in this book have been selected by Angus & Robertson from their edition de luxe of Norman Lindsay: Two Hundred Etchings edited by Douglas Stewart. That edition, limited to two hundred copies, sold out before publication in 1974.

An illustrated catalogue of Lindsay's early etchings published in a limited edition in London in 1927 (The Etchings of Norman Lindsay, Constable & Co) is as scarce as the luxury edition published in 1974. Norman Lindsay: Favourite Etchings was the first book to make widely available a general selection of Norman Lindsay's outstanding work in this medium.
