Kitchen - Range
Fine Art Print
19.5 x 19.5 cm
This image is one of a four-part series depicting an early Australian country kitchen including a wood fire oven, apples, lemons with lemon spread and cordial and a dresser with scales. It is limited to 250 copies, all individually numbered, titled and signed in pencil in the lower margin. If you line up the prints in a straight line (Range, Apples, Lemons and Dresser), they form a panoramic view of the kitchen. This fine art print was taken from an original linocut by Lyn Randall.
Kitchen - Range is a limited edition Giclee print. Giclee is a French word meaning "a squirt of liquid". This print is produced from a scanned original image, printed on museum grade, acid free, Hahnemuhle giclee fine art paper on a wide format inkjet printer, using Ultrachrome HD colour archival pigment inks.
Lyn Randall was born in England and emigrated to Australia in 1989. She works from her studio in Wamboin, near Canberra, where she divides her time between operating a picture framing business and developing her ideas for further print works. Lyn started drawing at the age of ten and has always had a love of art and photography. In 1998 she gave up her career in IT to devote more time to print making - in particular lino cuts, solar plate etchings and woodblock prints - all of which she hand prints herself. Lyn's photography extended to documenting her wide ranging travel and scuba diving trips and her photographs form the basis of her reference material for prints of Australian native flora and fauna as well as the undersea world.
