This edition is the first edition published in 1977 however, the first book issued had a black dustjacket which was subsequently changed in the same year to the Lady and Parrot dustjacket.

The one hundred etchings reproduced in this book have been selected by Angus & Robertson from their edition de luxe of Norman Lindsay: Two Hundred Etchings edited by Douglas Stewart. That edition, limited to two hundred copies, sold out before publication in 1974.

An illustrated catalogue of Lindsay's early etchings published in a limited edition in London in 1927 (The Etchings of Norman Lindsay, Constable & Co) is as scarce as the luxury edition published in 1974. Norman Lindsay: Favourite Etchings was the first book to make widely available a general selection of Norman Lindsay's outstanding work in this medium.
