Norman accompanied Percy and Lionel on many sketching excursions on the goldfields around Creswick which was the home town of the Lindsay family. This drawing is one of a number of works from an estate collection. The original owner purchased Around the Goldfields from the 1984 Bloomfield Galleries' exhibition held to launch the book Norman Lindsay: Impulse to Draw.
